Dear Friends and Community,

My name is Jessica Pérez del Toro, and I am an educator in Pasadena, California. My dear sister, Michelle Pérez-Consuegra, her husband, Hector, my niece, Brittney, and their rescue pup, Milo, are among the many victims of the devastating Eaton Fire, which ravaged much of their hometown of Altadena, California.

At 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8th, they evacuated their home with only the essentials, seeking safety from the rapidly advancing flames. When they returned on Thursday, they were met with the unimaginable—everything they owned had been reduced to ashes.

In an instant, they lost their home, belongings, and sense of normalcy. Now, they face the overwhelming task of getting back on their feet.

Michelle, Hector, and Brittney are a kind and generous family, always willing to go the extra mile for friends and loved ones. Their home has long been a place of warmth and joy, where they often hosted uplifting gatherings. Michelle is a thoughtful and caring host, and Hector is always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it’s building a raised garden bed or taking professional photos for special events. Brittney, a talented and aspiring artist, frequently helps care for her grandparents and is the first to volunteer for tasks like dog-sitting or assisting friends.

We are reaching out to our community for support during this challenging time. Your contributions will help with the unexpected costs that come with getting the Consuegras back on their feet. These funds will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid. Your help will allow the Consuegras to address the many aspects of recovery and get them through this crisis. All donations will go directly to the Consuegra family.
