Help the Cormacks Recover

Hi my name is Jamie Moody and with the family’s permission I’ve started this GoFundMe to help the Cormacks raise money for Shelby’s medical expenses.

Because her husband Colby has been so diligent in providing updates on Shelby’s situation many of you know the nightmare they are living through but if you don’t know here is a brief synopsis.

For 6 months now Shelby has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities constantly, trying to get healthy and find answers about what is attacking her body. At times it was touch and go but even with infections like meningitis and MRSA Shelby showed what a fighter she is and pulled through. Most recently her illness has been determined to be caused by a traumatic spinal cord injury. While we do not know what all will come from this most recent diagnosis we do know that Shelby has an incredibly long journey ahead of her.

While Shelby is fighting for her life Colby is doing his best to keep things together at home all while continuing to work as a high school teacher to support Shelby’s recovery. This is not an easy task as they have amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical debt. This doesn’t include regular living expenses or money spent spending time together when they were in different cities due to work and which hospitals could provide the best care.

Throughout this absolute nightmare Shelby and Colby have shown true strength, dignity, and faith. Let’s do whatever we can to help ease some of the financial burden so that they can focus on recovery! If you have any questions feel free to message Colby and he’ll get back to you when he can
