Help the CVYSA U17G Soccer Team Get to Tennessee

Hi! We are the 05Girls CVYSA BLAST Soccer team. We're part of an economically and socially diverse community in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina. Our Club is the Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Club; a small non-profit affiliate member of the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association.

 

Our Story begins several years ago in North Carolina Challenge League Second Division West. Back then, we didn't even have enough players for a full team, and we didn't even have a goalkeeper; we asked younger players to come play with us so we could compete. We competed against bigger clubs mostly from the bigger western NC cities like Charlotte and Winston Salem. Most of these clubs had multiple teams in every age and at every level of play.

 

Back then, the big clubs didn't give our team much respect. They do today! Through perseverance, teamwork, and always believing in ourselves, we've managed to win our divisions and get promoted to higher divisions with much tougher competition. We have gone from 2nd to 1st Division, from 1st to State Premier Division, and then from State Premier Division to the National Premier League, all in just 4 Seasons. Today, we compete not only against the best teams in our state, but also against the best teams in South Carolina and Georgia as well.

 

In this last season, we had two more amazing accomplishments. First, in just our first season in National Premier League, we went undefeated and finished at the top of the Piedmont Region Division! Only a handful of teams from our club has managed to get to this league, and none of them has ever finished at the top. After that, we competed in North Carolina's USYS State Cup Competition. In the past, we have never even made it out of the first round of play. We never stopped believing and today we stand as the NC USYS State Cup U17G Champions!

 

Our little small-town team has grown a lot over the years, and we've accomplished so much, but we're not done just yet. Our tremendous success this last year has earned us an invitation to the USYS National Cup Series. Our first stop is in June at the USYS Southern Region Tournament in Murfreesboro, TN. There we will compete against 15 other teams for a chance to represent the southern states in the USYS National Cup Tournament in July.

 

We are excited to compete against the very best teams in the south, but we can't do it without your help. Our club is a non-profit organization and doesn't have the funds to send us on this 8 Day Trip. We need to raise $25,000 by the end of May to cover the cost of food, lodging, and transportation. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to give, then please share this story with others.
