Help the Dahm family recover
Donation protected
Hello everyone, first and foremost I want to say thank you for taking the time to read this. These are tough times and my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families suffering.
That being said, I’d like to shed some light on my current situation.
On September 3rd, I received the call that my father had suffered a stroke. I rushed to Palmdale Regional Hospital all the while preparing myself for what I was about to face. Once I arrived, I found out he made it to the hospital just in time with minimal symptoms. I was so relieved to know he was alive and speaking and ready to go home! Unfortunately that didn’t last as long as I had hoped. Shortly after the doctors performed the necessary tests to find cause and location, his symptoms began. At first he could speak in increments with some slurring but had full control over his body. The next day he couldn’t speak at all with limited mobility in his right side. Yesterday and today he’s been working with therapists to train his brain into remembering how to speak and walk. We aren’t sure how long he’ll have to stay in the hospital, or how long his recovery will be but we will remain hopeful indefinitely. He is a strong man and wants more than anything to survive this in order to come home and be with us.
I am writing this today with high hopes that we’ll be able to raise enough to pay for his therapy and materials needed to regain function. If people are unable to donate, we ask that you share this post. Our community is a big place but the world is bigger. Thank you all once again for reading, and if you or anyone you know has tips and advice on how to be the best caregiver I can be for him, please reach out.
