HELP THE DALE FAMILY SURVIVE THE PALISADES FIRE

While flames raged towards them, my dear friend Cameron and her husband John frantically packed their three little girls, Felicity (8), Minnie (6), and Tallulah “Lou” (4), two dogs, and any anything they could grab at a moment’s notice into their car, and drove the only route out of their beloved neighborhood to safety. While they were very lucky to survive this horrible tragedy, they lost absolutely everything. Since their home was a rental, they are left with nowhere to live, no recourse to rebuild, and all the funds they had invested in the home gone, without any resources or repayment.

Cameron is the brilliant Costume designer on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. In addition to being an incredibly talented designer, she is also a compassionate department head, and a wonderful friend. She has held me when I’ve cried, stitched gowns together so I could dance, and never wavered when a script says that Max has to be dressed as a sub sandwich. Her husband John is a screenwriter, and as a family they are still trying to financially recover from last year’s writers strike, and now are left with nothing.

Cameron’s three beautiful daughters are adjusting to this tragedy with remarkable courage. Felicity, who will celebrate her 8th birthday newly displaced, is curious and thoughtful. She lost her beloved collection of stuffed animals—her nighttime companions—and her treasured computer, which she had planned to use to launch her very own live stream. Minnie, their spunky 6-year-old kindergartner, is full of energy, made up songs, and trivia. She loves to dance and makes friends with every animal she meets. Tallulah “Lou,” the youngest at just 4 years old, has a budding passion for art and could spend hours creating her colorful masterpieces.

Since they had only minutes of warning to evacuate, they were only able to grab a few essentials. On a personal note, Cameron puts clothes on our backs, and as her Wizards family, we are trying to put clothes on hers. We’re providing pajamas for the girls, toiletries, and necessary items, in addition to contributing monetarily to this survival fund.
