Help the David Family Rebuild after Fire Loss

We wanted to very quickly thank everyone that has donated to JD and Nicole over the last week. It has been incredible to see the outpouring of help and the encouraging words. As you can imagine, there is still so much unknown about the future and they have been very busy making phone calls and trying to make some pretty big decisions. I have seen every donation that has come in and would like to graciously thank every person (with real thank you cards, but realize that will be very difficult to do). Aloha, my name is Jessie Ellis, and I have started this Go Fund Me on behalf of my brother JD David, his wife Nicole, and their daughters Isla (7) and June (4). They have been Maui residents for 20 years, living in the beautiful, and now decimated, town of Lahaina, Maui.

They woke up the morning of August 8th to extremely high winds that had caused worrisome damage to their home and yard. By mid-day, they noticed a brush fire on the hill above their home and had about 20 minutes to gather themselves, their daughters, and their dog. From there, they joined a line of cars and were able to evacuate further north, making their way to safety. They spent the next two days with no power, no cell reception, and no idea what was happening to their beloved town while the rest of us watched it unfold online.

My brother and his family's home burnt to the ground along with all of their earthly possessions. Isla was about to start first grade, and her school no longer exists. Nicole's real estate office is gone, and no one knows when or if the restaurant where my brother has worked for the past 15 years will be operating again. Life as they knew it for the past 20 years disappeared within hours.
