Help our 2yr old through brain cancer

” Monday 18th December 2023 we took our little man Cobey (2 years old) back to the Dr’s as he had been unwell for weeks and just wasn’t getting any better. Once we arrived at the Doctors Cobey went down hill very quickly and we were told we need urgent care so we immediately rushed him to the ED at Inverell Hospital. The support and response we received as soon as we arrived to the Inverell Hospital from the fly in Doctor was amazing.

Cobey was taken for a CT scan as quickly as possible to rule out what was going on with our precious boy... 4 hours later we were told Cobey has a Mass on his brain and we needed to fly to Brisbane as soon as we could.

A chopper was organised ASAP to transport us that afternoon to Brisbane Children’s Hospital.

Cobey has since been put under to have a MRI (Tuesday 19th December) and has been diagnosed with a large tumour on his brain too large for removal…

This morning (Wednesday 20th December) Cobey was taken for surgery to take a biopsy of his tumour to send off for testing which will now take 5 days for a diagnosis on the type of tumour we are dealing with.”

Penny & Ben have both just started new jobs, and are currently both at Cobey’s bedside in hospital. Their two other boys Kason & Ryder are with family in Inverell.

Let’s bring this family together for Christmas and ease their worries of everyday expenses while they aren’t working and are by Cobey’s side.

UPDATE Wednesday 20th December - Cobey has had his surgery to biopsy the tumour. He had his favourite snack right after “pole” and is slowly recovering…. Now the wait begins for results (4-5 days time they should have some answers..) we are all praying. THANK YOU to those who have donated, Penny & Ben are so so greatful, they are beyond words.

FIRDAY 22nd December —- This breaks our heart writing this… Message from Penny & Ben “Cobey has been diagnosed with ‘high grade glioma’, which is a brain tumour affecting the middle of his brain which is not able to be removed …

Treatment can be done to give Cobey more time with his family but this is only time and is not a cure…
