Help The Dawg Father Family and Business Recover**
Dear Friends, Family and Supporters,
I’m Justin Stenabaugh, the proud owner of The Dawg Father Daycare & Boarding, a Daycare & Boarding Facility that has been a part of our High River community for nearly three years. Our mission has always been simple: to create a safe, welcoming environment for dogs, especially those who have been turned away by other daycares due to behavioral issues or breed-specific bias. Sadly, due to a series of unforeseen events, we now find ourselves in a fight to keep our doors open.
In recent months, my future wife has been battling a chronic bacterial infection, which took a severe turn when she suffered a seizure during lunch on September 3rd. This medical emergency flipped our lives upside down and has deeply impacted us emotionally, mentally, and financially. Our young son, too, has faced bullying and false accusations at school, further compounding our struggles as a family.
This year has been especially hard on our family. We tragically lost two of our beloved dogs within six months of each other, and just a few weeks ago, our cat was hit by a car right outside of our facility. These heartbreaking losses have added to the emotional burden we’ve been carrying, making it even harder to keep going.
On top of all this, rumors spread by competitors and even some authorities have affected our business's reputation and attempted to hurt our ability to maintain the high level of care we’ve always prided ourselves on. This has not only affected our mental health but has pushed us into severe financial distress. For the first time ever, we are behind on rent and facing the devastating possibility of closing our business.
We’ve worked tirelessly, 24/7, to build this daycare from the ground up. I’ve dedicated my life to helping dogs, inspired by my own experiences of how animals pulled me out of some of the darkest times in my life. I’ve seen firsthand how our daycare has brought the same healing to others, including my girlfriend and our son. We are committed to continuing this mission, but we cannot do it alone.
That’s why, for the first time, I’m reaching out to our beloved community for help. Your support would mean the world to us—allowing us to cover back rent, utilities, and hire additional staff to prevent burnout. It would also help us maintain the business we’ve poured our hearts into, so we can keep making a difference in the lives of dogs and their families.
We’ve always been the ones to help others without asking for anything in return, but now we are humbly asking for your support. Any donation, big or small, will go a long way in helping us continue serving the community we love and ensuring that dogs—especially those who need it most—have a place to thrive.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering our cause.
Sincerely,
Justin Stenabaugh & The Dawg Father Family
