Help the Daya Family Survive in Beirut
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Karolina and this is my family. My dad Tarek, his wife Nadwa, my siblings Mohammed, Nancy and Karim and their cat Loli.
Lebanon is in a critical state where bombings in Beirut are a daily threat to my family's lives. They live just in the outskirts of the city and the bombings are occurring close by which leaves them in constant fear and anxiety, never knowing what area might be hit next.
My dad is in very poor health and as he is a taxi driver he cannot work to support his family during these times. This means the family will soon have no money to afford the high cost of living. If their situation will not improve my dad will soon find himself needing to sell his car which is not only the car he uses for work but the family's only means of transportation. Leaving the country is expensive and difficult and only one of them currently have a valid passport.
I grew up with the absence of my dad as unforeseen and tragic circumstances separated him from me and my mother before I was born, leaving us with no contact whatsoever. Some time ago, after years of searching I managed to locate him and my family in Lebanon. The picture you see is from the first time we ever met.
We had been separated all my life up until then and it was one of the most important meetings of my life to see him and get to know my younger siblings. Now similar circumstances are threatening to separate us again.
I don't have much power to help them but I'm hoping that there might be people who can, even if it's just through a small donation.
Money will go to towards:
Helping them with cost of living to sustain them for at least a few months.
Health care for my dad.
Passports for the whole family and hopefully tickets/visas to get them out of the country, if that's at all possible.
My family and I are forever grateful for any donations made. If you're able to share this fundraiser that would be much appreciated as well!
