We are posting on behalf of the Daza family who have been struck by sudden and heartbreaking news. As the Daza family is our second family, we turn to the public for support. We kindly ask that you respect their privacy and refrain from messaging them for details at this time. Thank you.
Ray Daza is cherished as an incredible husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and a loving member of our community. On Wednesday, June 12th, Ray was found unconscious outside his home by his son, Marcus. Emergency services transported Ray to Palomar Pomerado Hospital. There, a CT scan revealed a severe brain bleed and immediately transferred him to Palomar Escondido Hospital’s intensive care unit. At Palomar Hospital, extensive medical examinations and consultations with neurosurgeons revealed devastating news. The family was faced with a choice between immediate surgery with a mere 4% chance of survival or letting nature take its course. The family was informed, though, that surgery would not promote the best quality of life for Ray. As the discussion concluded, surgery was no longer an option and on June 14th, the family made the heartbreaking decision to keep him comfortable till his time. Loved ones continue to fly in to say their goodbyes.
The family is in urgent need of assistance to cover medical expenses, including multiple hospital transfers, consultations with various specialists, and forthcoming memorial and funeral costs. Ray leaves behind his devoted wife, Mitchelle, and two sons, Marcus and Xavier. This September would have marked Ray and Mitchelle’s 20th anniversary. Marcus is studying to become a nurse, while Xavier is set to graduate high school in 2025. Tragically, Ray will miss these important milestones. Any remaining funds after covering medical and memorial expenses will support Mitchelle and the boys with living costs and education.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, we understand and keep the family in your prayers. At this moment, the family requests privacy. Please do not message them until more information is available. Thank you for your understanding and support.
