On March 29th, 2025, Miguel and Judy De La Rosa lost their home to a devastating fire. While they are incredibly grateful that no one was physically harmed, the damage to their home is beyond repair, leaving them with the difficult task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. We’ve created this GoFundMe to reach out to the community of Hood River, Oregon, and beyond for support in helping this remarkable family start over.

Miguel and Judy purchased their home in the 1990s after immigrating to the United States from the small town of Colotlán, Jalisco, Mexico. They left everything they knew in search of a better life and greater opportunities for their future children, Miguel and Monica. This home became the cornerstone of their new life, providing a place where they built over 30 years of cherished memories and celebrated countless milestones. While the loss is undeniably emotional, the dream they had when they first arrived here remains alive. They are determined to start fresh and build a new home filled with love and memories.

This unexpected tragedy has put an immense financial strain on the De La Rosa family. Not only have they lost their home, but Miguel, having recently retired and looking forward to enjoying some well-deserved rest, faces a significant reduction in income. To make matters worse, the house was uninsured, leaving them with very little to begin rebuilding their lives.
