Help the Dean Family Pay for Kayla's Surgery

Most of you know us from our roots in Central Arkansas, our beautiful time in China, or most recently in Northwest Arkansas (NWA). In short, 2020 took nearly everything from us financially and emotionally. In 2021, healing and recovery seems the theme here in NWA.

We just found out that Kayla needs 2 extensive jaw surgeries. To top things off, our insurance will not pay for the first surgery and may only cover 50% of the second:

-The first surgery (Bilateral Arthroplasty) will be on the tendons of her jaw, which are overstretched and are wearing down. This surgery is absolutely necessary and if it is not performed it could lead to her jaw being locked open.

-The second surgery (Maxillary & Mandibular Osteotomies w/ Septoplasty & Bone Grafting) is a facial and airway reconstruction surgery. This surgery is absolutely necessary because most people have an airway the size of a garden hose while Kayla's airway is the size of a coffee straw.

We are “shopping around" as much as we can to find affordable treatment with reputable surgeons, which could mean several trips out of state for the surgeries. We were already in the process of rebuilding our lives. We don't have any assets to procure a loan for the amount needed. We used our savings in 2020, after losing our home, jobs and belongings. The only thing we have left is our community, which is you!
