Help the Des Rosier family ❤️

Donation protected
Hi everyone, we’ve had a few people asking us to make donations so I thought I would start a gofundme to see if we can get any donations to help us during this trying time.

Thursday morning (5/26) while Nick was at work he was making his way down the ladder (like he does every day at work), and through a series of unfortunate events he fell 20-25 ft and landed solid on his feet, on concrete. The impact from the fall landed him a ride in an ambulance, being admitted to a trauma center as a level 1 trauma, and 2.5 days in the hospital with not one but two shattered heel bones. Each of his heels is broken into a minimum of 6 pieces, along with the nerves in the bottoms of his feet being damaged. The first 12 hours in the hospital was spent Nick being in agonizing pain, and unable to get his pain under control before he was finally able to get his pain managed. He is definitely going to need surgery but we need to wait 2-3 weeks for the swelling to go down first because there’s minimal soft tissue in the heel area, and when they open him up is when we will know the full extent of his injuries. The surgeon told us that our lives will be forever changed from the day he fell onwards, and told us that it’s very possible he may never be able to walk again or be able to work again. It’s become a very real possibility for us that he might become permanently disabled from this accident, and this is why we decided to ask for this donation. Thankfully workman’s comp is providing us a lot of resources, however they only cover nicks medical needs (surgery, equipment, rides for appointments since he is as of right now permanently wheelchair bound, etc) but they do not cover the assistance we will need outside of that. We won’t be compensated for his full wages while he isn’t working, and we have three young children who have a lot of needs and requirements, I’m also going to have to miss work to help take care of Nick, and I will also need help with paying rent, paying bills, child care, etc. Any donation you are willing to make will be so greatly appreciated, and we thank all of our friends and family for their support during this time. I feel so freaking lucky that my husband is still here and alive, the firefighters told him that 9/10 people do not survive that kind of fall. If he had landed even slightly different, we all could have lost this sweet caring man who has always been willing to drop everything to help those in need. He is in good spirits and we remain hopeful, but we realize the gravity of the situation which is why we are preparing for the very real possibility he may never walk again.

I thank you for taking the time to the read this ❤️

Love, Kayla
