Help the Deseme Family Buy a Safe Home

Donation protected
My name is Willio Deseme. I am 36 years old, I am a cartographer trained in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and I am the father of a family with 3 children. I live in one of the largest slums in Port-au-Prince, Haiti called Cite Soleil. for years, this area has been ravaged by a conflict between gangs.
In a country where the government does not have the means to respond to the needs of the people, it is the lower social class that pays for it. For more than two years violence and chaos has taken over this whole area of the city. Since 2013 I have worked with a team to create an organization called Kiskeya Children. Despite our own hardships, thanks to the support of some friends we have run programs and activities in Cite Soleil that educate and help children, young people, and some disadvantaged adults, in order to prepare their future for a different vision for themselves and the country. We have raised tuition for children to go to school and university, we have fed the hungry and found shelter for people after gang wars and natural disasters put them on the streets.

Now, this conflict has put me and my family in a very deplorable situation. For the past two years we have been living as nomads. After fleeing the violence in Cite Soleil for a small family property on Lagonave Island, our house there was destroyed by gangs and we had to flee again. Today I am taking the initiative to reunite my family and put them in a safe and peaceful place so that I can grow them well and live a better life with them. But due to the economic situation of the country I am unemployed, though I am training to begin a new job soon if the situation is stable. Today I present myself before you to ask friends for help, to support me in this case.

I found a plot of land for sale in the Archaie area, a small area away from all the hostility of the city, a wooded area that could be used as a garden to help feed my family. Please help me buy a plot of land where I can build an eco-friendly house with a garden space and fruit trees for tomorrow so that the children can get food. I am poor and will not be able to achieve this on my own. It is in this context that I come to you and ask you to help me. Every dollar you give helps me move forward, it helps me complete the purchase of 252 square meters (0.06 of an acre) and it also helps to buy cement blocks and steel to put a roof over my family. The land costs $12,000 and I can build the home for $10,000. Having a stable home for my family will also allow me to continue serving my community. Every donation you make is to help our family get out of this situation.

So I ask that if you or your friends or family to please give what you can. I know life is hard for everyone. But one of the best ways to help yourself is to help others, we know this in Haiti where we must help each other when we can. Every donation buys a small hand truck, a bag of cement, water pipes, or wires. Before I go any further, I would like to say a big thank you to every single person and every friend and family for their support in helping me achieve this family project.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me share this project because it is a contribution to the project as well. God bless us all once again thank you so much for your support. God bless you, Thank you!
