Help the disability community in Cambodia

EMERGENCY RELIEF FUNDS FOR THE DISABILITY COMMUNITY IN CAMBODIA

Times are extremely tough for many countries across the world. Businesses have shut down, people lost their jobs, and parents are struggling to pay for groceries and basic necessities for their family. The impact of the pandemic has been severe upon the locals, who rely on tourism to work and earn money.

People with disabilities have even been more deeply affected, as they have always been more vulnerable: difficulties to find jobs, lack of accessibility to education, and also discrimination. Their income dropped considerably and they do not have any savings to face the situation. They now cut the rice portions at every meal to make their food supply last longer.

WHO WE ARE

The mission of Soulcial Trust is to raise awareness about issues and causes related to disability in Cambodia. People with disabilities have always been more vulnerable, Soulcial Trust works with local stakeholders in Siem Reap to directly address issues regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Our actions:
- Employment support and training for our beneficiaries
- Wheelchair Basketball for adults with disabilities
- Blind Football for children with visual impaiement and blindness
- Rugby for underpriviledged and deaf children
- Zumba Dance Therapy for children with mental disorders
- Educational programs for schools in Siem Reap

Our commitment did not stop.  We came to meet Soulcial Trust's beneficiaries to see how we could help them. Bel's, our wheelchair basketball team captain, opened the doors of his house and accepted to tell us more about the current situation for people with disabilities around Siem Reap. With the global COVID-19 crisis which led to the absence of tourists, many of them have seen their income decrease significantly and they are struggling more than ever to feed themselves and their families.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY

We urgently need to raise money to cover living costs for our beneficiaries and their families during those difficult times. Our goal is to help the local community of people with disability in Siem Reap to maintain a decent lifestyle by providing them what they need the most: food and hygiene products.

WHAT WE NEED

The funds from this campaign will be used to directly support the families that need to compensate their loss of income. The funds will be used to purchase food and hygiene items to keep our beneficiaries safe and healthy until the situation gets back to normal. We need to raise 15 000$ to distribute enough supplies for at least 5 months.
