Help the Doucette Family

About 3 months ago, Jenna was diagnosed with Placenta Accreta - a high risk pregnancy condition with a mortality rate of 7%. Jenna was being very careful to make sure that she made it to her scheduled c-section date of March 11.

On Sunday morning, March 8, the Doucette family was sitting in their living room when Jenna felt dizzy and ill. She sat on the couch and felt a ton of pressure in her belly, laid down and started screaming in pain. Evan called her mom, and then called 911. Once they got to the hospital it was discovered that Jenna's blood pressure was 80/30. The doctors were able to find a heart beat of the baby but it was low. Like something out of an episode of ER, Jenna was run down the hallway to deliver the baby. About 30 mins later someone came out and informed them that the baby was delivered. About 1-2hrs later, Jenna was stabilized.

Jenna's uterus had ruptured and she had experienced placenta abruption. Her stomach cavity filled with blood and essentially the baby was just in her stomach cavity trying to breath in all of that blood. Jenna lost half of her blood supply as soon as they opened her. She also lost the remainder of her blood during surgery. She was given 4 bags of blood and that kept her alive. The doctors were shocked that she did not flatline.

Beautiful Shea experienced oxygen deprivation at birth and has been moved to Robert Wood Johnson Memorial Hospital. She has had three seizures and doctors are fearful of potential brain damage. More will be known about her condition and long term effects as time passes.

The Doucettes are a kind family who will face a difficult journey moving forward. We are starting this GoFundMe so that they can focus on healing.
