Help The Dunkle's Give Their Mom The Best 6 Months Possible
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This is Connor, and recently My mom, Heather Dunkle, was diagnosed with cancer.
This came as a shock to all of us, and we discovered this after we heard news that my Mom had a stroke. She was struggling to speak, and even having seizures. Soon she would be rushed to the hospital. After a few weeks of testing at the Mayo Clinic, they discovered a massive tumor in her brain, and they told her she would not have long to live.
Originally, they said that it would be 1 month, after more testing they said it would likely be 6 months with 3 weeks of intensive radiation therapy. My Dad works as a history teacher in Wisconsin, and My Mother just started working at the school as a tutor, and finally, they were experiencing financial stability. For multiple reasons, this situation has blind-sided us and left us heartbroken.
About half of the family lives in Wisconsin and the other half in California. I, ( Connor ), flew out to visit my mother as soon as I heard the news. I left on April 2nd from Fresno and stayed until April 10th. I would have stayed longer, but my son's ( Hugh ) due date was on the 18th. If you know my Mom, you know that nothing could have convinced her that my staying there would be more important than my being there for the birth of my Son.
This kind of selflessness is a main attribute of my Mother. She has a special soul, one that knows empathy more than any other person I have ever met. My Mom can't hold a grudge, and her love, sympathy, compassion, and dedication have all served as inspirations to me as to how a human being should treat another.
Our goal is to raise money for a multitude of things, and I have listed them below;
- Fundraise money so my Mom, Dad, and other immediate Wisconsin Family can take a trip to California to reunite with their other grandkids, siblings, family, and friends, and the Auberry Ward.
- Assist my Mother with various Medical Expenses, such as prescriptions and copays
- Assist my Mom and Dad with various living expenses, so they can focus on the present.
- Future Funerary Expenses
Finally, I would just like to thank everyone who can either donate or keep The Dunkle family in their hearts. We desperately need every ounce of love and support, and prayers, messages of support, donations, and even funny jokes all help us make the most out of this desperate time.
Thank you for reading,
Connor Dunkle
