Help the Ebojos go to the NKH Conference
Donation protected
Hello, I am starting a GoFundMe for my sister, Angie and her family. If you haven’t been following their journey, welcome! At 2 and a half months old, my nephew Ronan was diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder- NKH (Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia) which is caused by a defect in the enzyme system that breaks down the amino acid glycine, resulting in an accumulation of glycine in the body’s tissues and fluids. Since glycine cannot be broken down, toxic levels build up and can cause brain damage, seizures, and muscle weakness. Currently, there’s no cure for NKH but there are some treatments that can improve the lives of those with NKH. The moment my sister and her husband were informed of their son’s diagnosis, they’ve been spreading NKH awareness. Raising money to help researchers get a step closer to finding a cure for NKH. Angie and her family are hoping to go to the NKH Conference in Boston, MA in October to learn more about NKH so they can be better advocates for Ronan. Wanting to lighten the financial load for them, we’re hoping to raise enough money to help pay for a portion of their trip. We appreciate you all for the love and support and hope you all continue to learn and spread awareness of NKH. Thank you!!
