Help the Extraordinary Zehr Family

Donation protected
Elias was born with a genetic lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis. In 2016, he went into respiratory failure, and on January 7, 2017, at the age of 31, he received the life-extending gift of a bilateral lung transplant. Unfortunately, after having COVID in January of this year, followed by several complications and infections, his body is rejecting his new lungs and needs a second bilateral lung transplant.

Elias, his wife Jessica, and their 8-year-old twin boys (just like Emma and Sophia) live in Northern, NY, but will have to reside in Pittsburgh, PA (7 hours away) for at least 3 months after his transplant and may need to stay there before the transplant as well due to the distance. Elias cannot work, and Jessica is trying to manage to work, care for her husband and children, and travel back and forth from frequent hospital stays appointments and ER visits.

This money will help pay for gas, hotel stays, food, and eventually rent for an apartment in Pittsburgh once they have to relocate. It will also take pressure off of Jessica if she finds herself unable to continue working to meet the needs of her family.

Our goal is to raise at least enough money to cover the cost of renting an apartment which will run between $1800-$2000+ per month(at minimum) for 3 months, but possibly longer.

Please consider supporting this family during this difficult time. Jessica is amazing, and I am so lucky that our children's extra chromosome brought us together many years ago. Jess is hard working, kind and selfless. As a medical mama, I know Jess's stress, and my hope and desire are to relieve some of that stress by supporting her family financially. Thank you!
