Help the Family of Adam Heath plane crash victim

Donation protected

This recent ‘Sunday-Funday’ photo shows twins Jasmine and Kelerah (12), and Madison (9) with parents Lucinda and Adam Heath who recently moved to Maroochydore from Ballarat, Vic. for a new phase in their lives. Devastatingly this phase ended on 23rd June with the death of Adam

and areobatics instructor-pilot Rory Blanning

from Caboolture in the horrendous crash of a Cessna 150 Aerobat near Peachester.

Our hearts go out to Rory’s father John and family, and especially to Lucinda and the girls, who are now facing an uncertain future without their husband and father!

We invite you to join Adam’s colleagues in the aviation fraternity by joining us in making a meaningful donation to the fund established in Adam’s memory to ease the difficult journey ahead for Lucinda, Jasmine, Kelerah and Madison.

The unfortunate circumstances were – around 11am on 24th June, 2021, Cessna C150M VH-CYO

departed from sunshine Coast Aero Club at Maroochydore for an aerobatic training flight. On board were experienced aerobatic flight instructor Rory Blanning and recently joined Club Member Adam Heath. The Cessna headed southwest past Maleny on climb to 6000’ to a suitable aerobatic training area, confirmed by an Airservices radar track.

When the aircraft had not returned early afternoon, initial radio calls were unsuccessful, and an emergency was subsequently declared with notification to the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

The families of both pilots were contacted, and arrived at the Club late afternoon, understanding the very grave concerns for their loved ones’ welfare. A Club Director was in repeat communication with emergency authorities over subsequent hours, who confirmed police and search personnel were in the vicinity of a location identified from ‘find my Apple phone’ by Adam’s wife Lucinda. Around 9pm when 2 police personnel arrived at the Club, the hearts of all present sank ahead of receiving the terrible news the aircraft had been located with both occupants deceased in a heavy stand of timber beside Commissioners Flat Road, SW of Peachester.

The shock-horror of the moment turned to extensive caring and sympathy for Rory’s father John, and Adam’s wife Lucinda and their 3 daughters Jasmine and Kelerah (12) and Madison (9), as they faced the harsh reality of that news.

While we understand Rory has no dependants and our hearts go out to his father John and family at Rory’s passing, with Adam and Lucinda’s three daughters now alone, we trust the Fantastic Aviation Community will join our endeavour to provide some significant financial assistance to Lucinda to help her manage the sad and trying times ahead.

Education of the children Jasmine, Kelerah, and Madison that Adam has so abruptly left behind will be supported by your efforts.

Dont be shy and help us now please.
