Help the family of Dan Lewis; Husband, Father, and Hunter.
Donation protected
I was involved in an incident on the mountain (Central Mtns. Nebo, Utah) hunting this past Saturday, Oct. 5th. I was a first responder on the scene of an individual who had what is assumed to have been a massive heart attack while hunting. "Dan Lewis", husband of Sandy Bleak Lewis and father of 2 sons, 1 currently on an LDS Mission and the other who was in camp at the time of the incident was the victim of this sudden onset Heart Attack. We have all been on the mountain and "over-exerted" ourselves, but we never stop to think that our level of exertion might be the final breaths that we take. I feel terrible for the family and for Dan's brother who just last year lost their other brother, also on a hunt under similar circumstances. Dan was only 46 years young, and their entire family loved to recreate and hunt in the wild outdoors of Utah. Comments on Dan's social media or related family state that, "Dan passed away hunting, doing the very thing that he loved." Unfortunately, there were no life-saving measures that could be done for Dan in the field. He had been down for just too long for any viable attempt at CPR or other measures to be effective. Dan passed very quickly and with minimal to no pain and not even an awareness as to what was happening, and he left this world truly doing an activity that he loved to do and was passionate about.
The true tragedy in this situation is the family and his two boys that are left behind. I would like to reach out to any and all outdoorsmen, sportsmen, or whomever that would be willing to make a donation of whatever amount that you feel comfortable with, even if it is $1.00. We have all had the thought of something similar happening to us in the field like this and the true victims of such an event that we would leave behind. The family of Dan Lewis could use your help as they try to process and cope with this tragic event and search for a direction forward. I ask you to please contribute; all funds will go directly to the immediate family of Dan Lewis.
