Help the Family of Eileen McDermott Citro
This gofundme page is to assist the family with the unexpected expenses of Eileen's sudden death and for final arrangements. Thank you for your help.
Eileen (McDermott) Citro, (Denville, NJ) went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2021. Her passing was sudden and tragic. She was four years into her retirement after working as a registered pediatric nurse for over 35 years. For the last twenty, she was in the Pediatric ICU at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ where she cared for many babies, children and teens along with their families as they walked through what for some, was the most difficult time of their lives.
Eileen grew up in Parsippany, NJ and was mother to Tony, sister to Lynne, Tracey (dec), Philip, Maureen, Kathleen, James, Amy and Jane, and aunt/great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a caring and supportive sister and always fun to be with. In her high school years, her love of sports often found her (or heard her) lamenting loudly for her favorite Joe Namath as he was tackled or shriek with joy after an incredible pass and touch down. That excitement for almost all sports would continue for the rest of her life.
She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, abundant generosity, love of gardening, her beautifully wrapped presents, and love for her many birds she nurtured over the years. Eileen was one of the most caring people you could know, but unfortunately, she faced difficult health issues that caused her great pain and fatigue, and in her later years keeping up with life was difficult, including continuing her life insurance.
We are starting this go fund me page to help the family with the unexpected expenses to make sure the family can honor Eileen with the appropriate arrangements and help with her final expenses. Any donations would help to alleviate the stress so they can grieve without the extra burden of financial strain.
Although the family is completely devastated, they are comforted in the knowledge that she is with the Lord and other family members that have gone on before her.
Arrangements
The family will hold a small private family viewing and burial and will announce a future date for a memorial for friends and loved ones to remember and celebrate her life.
