Unfortunately, Eugene (Gene) English was involved in a fatal car accident that occurred just after 8 am on October 3, 2019, in Port Perry, Ontario at Simcoe St and Old Simcoe St.
Most don't remember that day, but I will never forget it. I was just cleaning the kitchen floor, waiting for Gene to come home from work.
Gene was 27 years old, he had just became a father (to his own son)earlier this year, Hank (now 11 months old). Gene also was lucky enough to have two step children, Kalen (15 years old) and Alyssa (11 years old). When we met Gene in 2014, we weren't looking to expand our family, but Gene was the missing piece to our family. He made our family complete!! Gene brought a lot of love and laughter to our lives. Always looking to put a smile on our faces. Even when I was mad he would flash those big, brown puppy dog eyes, with a smile and it would melt my heart every time! Gene would never let Kalen or Alyssa be upset, he was the person that they went to when they had a bad day.
Gene was so excited when we found out we were having a boy, insisting he be named Hank. Even though I didn't agree. All through my pregnancy he would talk to Hank and I would say "He is not Hank", But in the end Gene got what he wanted, he had that way about him.
In August Gene started a new job with Millars Paving and we moved into Port Perry from Seagrave, into a larger rental as we needed for our now larger family. Unfortunately that means that my monthly expenses were increased and being on maternity leave that doesn't make it enough right now to cover everything. We have been making it by but we are falling behind with our rent. Any help would be amazing to help us get past this hard time.
