Help the family of Jeremiah Moore

Jeremiah was a sweet, happy, loving, first grader who always had a smile on his face. He came from a large family and loved playing math games and going to school. He played tag on the playground and always had a ball in his hand. He was affectionate and he was sometimes naughty. He was everything that a seven-year-old should be.
On July 12th, Jeremiah Moore was taken by a senseless act of gun violence. He was shot while riding alongside his family, parents, cousins, and siblings in a minivan after visiting his grandmother. He was rushed to a hospital by his family, but didn't make it. His ten year old brother and best friend Eli was also with him at the time.
Jeremiah was not only loved by his family (who called him stink dog), but also by his teachers, the aides in his classroom, and all those who were fortunate to have known him. Once when Jeremiah was given some items from a teacher, he asked if she had any she could also give his sister. Jeremiah lived with his grandmother and eight other cousins during the week. He came home to his mom and dad on the weekends. He loved playing video games with his father and he always talked about his "mad running skills."
Jeremiah was a member of New LIfe Community Church in Rogers Park and a member of Communities United. Just this May, Jeremiah and his family were protesting at City Hall in Chicago against gun violence. Even at seven, he was aware of how gun violence had affected his family and those around him. He was proud of himself and his siblings and cousins for taking part in this event. He bragged about it to all of his teachers the next day saying "I was on T.V. I was on T.V"
We are raising money not only to help with the funeral arrangements for Jeremiah, but more importantly to help with the counseling and support that Jeremiah's brother and sister, grandmother, parents, and family will need to help them navigate this trauma. Jeremiah is just one child who has been taken by gun violence. But he was the light to so many. He was loved.
Jacquie one of the teacher's aides at his school described how Jeremiah would always come and stand close to her- eager for affection, eager for attention, and eager to learn. His teachers are devastated, his family is gutted, and his friends will never be the same.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
