Help the Family of Marcus Grant Sr

Dear Families,

This one hits deep. This is one of our own. This is family. It’s hard to write this without getting choked up and overwhelmed with grief.

One of our assistant coaches Marcus Grant’s son, Teandre, was tragically shot in the head in Annapolis. He is a great kid, not gang or drug related. He was an innocent bystander a kid in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is currently sedated and in Critical care at University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Teandre is 17 years old and a student at Annapolis High School on Summer Break. He was actually supposed to be in Upper State New York visiting his mother at this time. Teandre was the kind of kid who take the shirt off his back and give it to you.

His father Marcus has been a Coach at South River for 4 years now and has been a huge role model for the kids of Annapolis and the South River community. He is part of the staff on our 12U team. Marcus picks up anywhere from 3-5 kids daily and brings them to practice trying to show the kids a different side of life. He is the epitome of selfless, taking care of all of these kids with no reward other than seeing them flourish as young men.

Marcus and his family are currently staying at a hotel near the Hospital in Baltimore. They are incurring cost on that front as well as not working to be by the side of their son. As we all would do.

The family has relatives packing their belongings and are trying to leave their current Community. His younger children are scared to go back home as their brother was shot a block away from where they live.

All I can say is that Marcus has become family. He is one of ours. His soul is in such a good place and he does so much for the kids.

Please help us support Marcus and his family, while they deal with such a horrific situation and allow them to focus all their attention on their son. This is Family.
