From the family of Sophia Torres:
Sophia just returned from earning the title of 5th in the nation at a soccer tournament in Virgina. She’s a disciplined competitor and went for a run on July 12th in the afternoon and was hit by a car driving down Serrano pkwy. It was no one’s fault. She was taken by ambulance to UCD in Sacramento in which they conducted cpr. They quickly completed imaging identifying a subarachnoid hemorrhage. She was sedated and intubated. A shunt was placed and other measures to reduce Intracranial pressure (ICP) were taken. She’s since had two surgeries, abdominal exploratory surgery and brain surgery.
Sophia is going to be a freshmen in high school. She has a beat to her own drum spirit and loves her friends and family fiercely. She is the most disciplined human in our family. She is capable of any rehab God is willing her to have. Thank you for your giving hearts.
For those who would like to help, donations are being accepted to help the Torres family with expenses.
