Help the Faraj family Survive & Rebuild Their Lives

My name is Rosa, and I am a close family friend of the Faraj family. Today, I’m helping them rebuild their lives after losing everything in this horrible war.

 Here are Nuran’s words: “Hello, world. It’s Nouran

Nouran Jamal, a27-years-old teacher, crochet and macrame creator from Gaza. I’m a single mother to my 6-years-old daughter, Layan. It is no secret to you what is happening in Gaza Strip in front of the world. Words I’m about to tell are moments of an ongoing terror me and my family have been experiencing in the post several months. I hope my words explain how much suffer and pain we have been experienced in this ongoing genocide; A war that goes against dreams and ambitions of living a decent life any human being would deserve in this world. 6 years ago, back in 2018, I completed my bachelor degree from the Faculty of Education in the University of Palestine. I had many goals that I wanted to achieve, many targets to meet, and out of a sudden, on the 7th of October 2023, me & my family woke up on the sounds of military aircrafts, and heavy bombings, smell of death was everywhere, And On 13th of Oct 2023, everyone in Gaza including us, specifically in Tel Al-Hawa, got displaced from the north of Gaza strip all the way to Nuseirat refugee camp as stated by the Israeli Army’s “Safe Zone”. I’m not sure how I can describe my feelings as we ran away from death between flying bullets. By a miracle, we reached at Nuseirat Refugee Camp, however, we did not know where to go or stay just as thousands of many others. We were a family of 7 members, my parents, four siblings (including triplets), and my daughter.

My father, Jamal Faraj, 60, is retired.

My mother, Basema Faraj, 57, is a housewife.

My siblings include Ahmed, 27, a dentist.

Karim, 27, an architect.

Amir, 23, an architect.

and myself, Nouran, 27, an English teacher.

My daughter, Layan, is 6 years old. For 3 months, we had to stay in the camp, far away from home. My family and I worked rotationally on how to get water and other basic life requirements that were no longer due to the closure of the border crossings since basic needs from the supermarkets was not available. This was our daily routine.

I have recently faced a loss of income as a teacher and has turned to utilizing my talent in creating handmade products. I specialize in crochet, making clothes, bags, and toys with love and dedication. Despite the challenges I face, I always find joy in my craft and Im committed to provide my daughter with all the essentials she needs. As a single mother, I shoulder the responsibility of raising my 6-year-old daughter alone, without any external support. This little girl has been deprived of the simple joys of life and struggles to cope with the harsh realities of her circumstances, including the lack of education, a stable home, healthcare, and security. I work tirelessly day and night to fulfill orders promptly, often dipping into my savings to procure the necessary materials.

Ahmed Jamal one of triplets, a 27-year-old dentist from Gaza. All his dreams and ambitions were shattered. After six years of dental study and five years of practice, everything changed. Despite the horrors, I’ve been volunteering to provide dental care and help others in need.

He worked as teaching assistant to learning the dental student and then worked at UNRWA team. And after a whole 6 years of studying and internship with 5 years of scientific and practical experience the war had another idea.

During this war and at many times, we lost a number of my family members (father’s family). Some of them were found, and some of them are still under the rubble of houses, One of them is my aunt, And 10 people from our relatives. None of them were left alive.

Despite the hardships, he continued to help others in need, providing dental treatment and volunteering at shelter centers. However, the constant threat of death and displacement loomed over us, pushing us to the brink of despair.

My mother faces challenges with mobility following surgeries on her joints and pelvis due to age-related issues. As a result, she is advised against engaging in any household chores.

yet again , we find ourselves in Deir Al-Balah, displaced and uncertain about the future. Ahmed’s dental clinic is gone, my siblings are jobless, and our house is a distant memory. The war has taken everything from us, but we refuse to lose hope.

With your support, we can rebuild our lives and create a better future for my family and me, after a long journey of suffering of what we went through during the Gaza crisis your generosity will help us secure a safe place to call home, restore my dental practice, and provide for our basic needs.

So here is How money will be spent:

* Around 6000$ covering GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + 0.30$ per transaction). * Accommodation in Egypt paying around 2000 US Dollars to every member of my 7-member family to be safety and Legally

* Housing (We need to pay rent of 550$ per month), Food, clothes, Basic house devices and equipments & etc.

for a period of time in Egypt

* My Mother need to surgical procedure related to Joint Hip Replacements due to complications for inflammation from the lack of cleaning and bad situation during this war.

* we need able to purchase our mother’s medicine and injections she needs which cost 500$ per month

* Transportation

* Materials used for my sister's work

We will stand on our feet again with your help. Together, we can overcome the devastation of war and rebuild our lives from the ashes.
