This happy family is in crisis.
Mike and Elizabeth Featherstone and their boys Cole and Sean are a sweet, loving family living in Clearwater, Florida. Mike is a video editor at Spectrum, and Elizabeth is a registered nurse.
For the past few years Elizabeth has suffered from several major health problems that have required long-term care. Her condition worsened over the 2017 holidays, and in January 2018 she was hospitalized and unable to live at home for over five months. Elizabeth lost her nursing job as a result of her ongoing health issues. She continues to struggle with life-threatening anorexia, and other conditions that require ongoing medical treatment, including dysautonomia and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.
Her long hospitalization has taken a huge toll on the family, as you might expect – but it has also meant the loss of her salary, leaving Mike to shoulder their mortgage payment, food and utilities on 50% of their income. With several months of intensive treatment remaining before she’s strong enough to go back to work, Elizabeth’s condition leaves the family with a single income and an uncertain future.
Mike has been part of the Spectrum team for twenty years and is loved by colleagues and clients alike. He is always willing to go the extra mile for others… and even during this hard time in their lives, Mike has continued to stay on top of his work with a positive attitude. This time he needs OUR help! We’re looking not just to our "work family,” but also to friends old and new, acquaintances and beyond, to help support Mike, Elizabeth, and their two boys in this time of need.
