Help The Fields Family In Their Medical Emergency

It is with a heavy heart that we create this GoFundMe on behalf of Jason and Vanessa Fields.

During the last week of 2022, Jason started experiencing severe abdominal pain accompanied by excessive vomiting. Thinking it was a bad stomach flu, he powered through until the pain was too severe that he was taken to a local ER. The doctors agreed it was likely a stomach bug and gastroenteritis, subscribed medication for the pain, and sent him home with orders to rest. No more than 24 hours later, the unimaginable began…

Jason collapsed at home and Vanessa found him unresponsive and not breathing. She immediately called 911 and while in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, Jason went into cardiac arrest. His heart had stopped. He was shocked twice and thankfully brought back to life. After receiving multiple blood transfusions, doctors performed emergency stomach surgery to figure out what was going on. During surgery, the doctors found that Jason had a perforated ulcer and a hole in his stomach with a severe and life threatening amount of septic infection.

Currently, Jason is on full life-support with multiple organ failures, diminishing platelets, and signs of a stroke. He is fighting hard and has been since the moment this all began. In true Jason fashion – he doesn’t give up.

The ICU is a terrifying place where circumstances can shift at any given second. Jason’s condition changes every hour. He is still in a highly critical condition and while we are taking it day by day, we also need to consider the reality of the situation and the long road ahead for the Fields family.

Since January 1st life for Jason, Vanessa, their 2-year-old son Jack, and their new baby on the way, has been turned upside down. Every second of 2023 has been one of uncertainty. We ask for donations to see them through this tragic event. Jason and Vanessa will not be able to work for the foreseeable future. Their second child is due in a few months and the added burden of financial stability is too much for Vanessa to carry alone. While any amount of donation is SO appreciated, we will also take all the positive thoughts and prayers we can get. Jason is a loving husband, an incredible father, a caring son, a dependable brother, a selfless friend, and a comforting smile to any stranger. He is so full of spirit and lives his life for his family. He is adored by Vanessa and Jack and his new baby on the way doesn't yet know how blessed he is to have Jason as his daddy. Jason is the type of person that puts everyone before himself. He would help anybody at any given chance and would never ask for anything in return. This is our chance to help Jason. He is the heartbeat of his family and they desperately need him back home.

These funds will go directly to the Fields family. They will be used for monthly bills and all upcoming medical expenses.
