Help the Fortunise Cene Family Find a Home
Donation protected
The Fortunise Cene family—Nathalie, Jean, Horena, and baby Jay—has endured a long journey from Haiti to Chile, Mexico, and finally, Massachusetts, where they've faced significant hardships, including living in a tent and a temporary church shelter.
You can read about their story in the news here: https://www.wbur.org/news/2024/08/09/massachusetts-haitians-shelter-limits-advocates and here: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2024/08/30/metro/migrant-families-sleep-on-street/
The HomeBASE Housing Assistance program in MA can cover rent, security deposits, broker's fees, furniture, moving expenses, utilities, and overdue rent and/or utility payments. They applied and were approved for HomeBASE. Now they need help finding a HomeBASE-approved apartment in Massachusetts. If you can help with this, please message me (Kim Wynne) on GoFundMe. This is urgent - they only have until mid-September to move out of their current shelter.
In addition to securing housing, the family requires financial support for essential needs like groceries, childcare, medical expenses, transportation, and legal fees that SNAP benefits and other programs cannot cover. We're aiming to raise $3,207 to cover these costs. This is the monthly cost of living in MA for a family of 4, according to https://livingcost.org/cost/united-states/ma
Every dollar will make a meaningful impact in helping this family achieve stability and start anew. We commit to full transparency, providing photos of receipts and financial records related to this fundraiser.
Thank you for your support in helping the Fortunise Cene family create a hopeful new chapter.
