Help Foster Johnson get a Seizure Dog
Donation protected
Foster Johnson (6 years old) is the 6th child of Candace and Darwin Johnson. He is a first grader in the small community of Lakeview, Oregon. Foster loves playing sports and board games with his 8 siblings. He loves Paw Patrol and all things dogs and puppies.
Foster has been diagnosed with genetic idiopathic (meaning they don't know why or no source) generalized epilepsy (meaning the seizure affect the whole brain). He also has been diagnosed with a processing disorder and has speech therapy twice a week.
They have had many tests and attempted several medications; which have had mixed results. One medication caused Steven Johnson Syndrome, a rare and serious reaction. He currently is having seizures daily that the medication seems to have no effect of controlling.
At this time, the Johnson’s are in great need of a seizure alert/response dog. While there is normally a 3+ year wait list they are fortunate enough to have found a litter poodle puppies that are great candidates for service animals that are being born in 1 WEEK. While the puppy will still need to be trained before it is able to help Foster this drastically decreases the wait time. A trainer a few hours from their home has been contacted and is able to board and fully train the puppy to provide the services Foster needs. This dog will be a great blessing to the whole family particularly Foster.
These dogs are highly trained which means they come with a high price tag not covered by insurance. It is an incredible opportunity to be able to get a puppy so quickly, please help make this necessity a reality!
Any extra funds will go towards and medical and travel expenses for Foster.
Please share and donate if you are able :)
I am Candace Johnson’s sister and this fundraiser was posted with their permission.
