Help the Frey-Rogers on their Adoption Journey

In the summer of 2021, we celebrated our second pregnancy after a long journey of trying to grow our family since the birth of our first child, Oscar, in 2016.
After only 8 weeks of pregnancy, we began a tumultuous journey learning that this pregnancy with ectopic, having placed itself on Ariel’s cesarean scar. Being a high-risk pregnancy, there were many appointments to be made and lots and lots of sadness. But, after hemorrhaging multiple times & undergoing numerous surgeries to stop the bleeding, Ariel underwent an emergency hysterectomy just weeks later.
The grief that followed such a great loss has been immense. The reality of a child lost and the inability to conceive again has been insurmountable. We have allowed each day to unfold, hands open, trying our best to stay present and stay open to the new dreams for our lives. As we continue to do this, we hold on to hope that our family can still continue to grow.
With great hope, love, and thought, we begin our journey forward with adoption.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has influenced the number of open doors to us in the process of beginning adoption. Due to the influx of waiting families, many adoption agencies are not welcoming new families in. This has limited the local agencies that we were hoping to work with. Fortunately, through much research and hope, we have partnered with American Adoptions, an agency that has been working for over 25 years nationwide and is one of the largest domestic adoption agencies in the United States.
Taking this step forward and committing to our dream has us feeling both buoyant and vulnerable. With this big step comes a big ask, a lot of care from our community, and total humility. We are hoping to raise $40,000 that would cover a home study, fees both legal and within the agency, marketing and advertising within the company, and more.
We know this is a large ask and welcome the many ways to partner and support us on this journey. Whether it be shared stories, hopes, thoughts, or financial generosity, thank you. We couldn’t do this without you.
