Help the Furlong Family

On December 20th 2024 Fire crews were called to a home on Shawbrooke Close SW in the community of Shawnessy Calgary after 9:30 p.m. for reports of a fire.

Firefighters arrived to find dark smoke coming from the house and that my sister Andrea Furlong, originally from St. John's Newfoundland was found with burns to her face and hands. Fire had started in her bedroom and she was injured trying to put the fire out.

Andrea also has a 9 year old daughter who lives with non verbal autism.

The damage from the fire is extensive and the family will not be able to return home. My nieces, ages 9 and 13 have lost all of their clothes and belongings.

The road to recovery will be long as the family is currently displaced from their home. I am seeking support for my sister's family to help them navigate this situation and to ensure support for housing over the next few months. Thank you to everyone who donate. The money will go directly to the family to rebuild following this tragic circumstance.
