Help the Galaxy Bookshop get back on their feet.

The Galaxy Bookshop has been in Hardwick, Vermont since 1988 and has been much beloved by the community and visitors for years. On July 20th a small fire in a tenant apartment upstairs set off the sprinklers and the entire inventory was lost. It will be months before the space can be occupied again.

Luckily the bookstore has insurance, however there have already been some unexpected costs and your donation will bridge the gap between insurance and unforeseen expenses while we work towards re-opening the bookstore for the community again.

Donations will go towards mitigation fees, expenses for Tara Goreau- the wonderful artist of the bookstore's mural- for restoration and preservation of the piece, paying our vendors, and keeping us afloat as we work from a temporary space to get back to providing books to the community (in some capacity) as soon as possible. Please note that as the Galaxy Bookshop is not a 501c3 company, any donations made are not tax deductible. Any money not used will be dispersed to community organizations.
