Help the Garcia Family Honor Jose's Memory

Jose Esteban Garcia, age 58, passed away on Sunday, August 4th, 2024 in Bakersfield, California. He was born on November 28th, 1965 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico to Jose Elio Garcia Sepulveda and Nora Irma Torres. He married Nora Patricia Vega Garcia in Los Angeles on December 26th, 1986. Immigrating to the United States at just 16 years old, he worked tirelessly to make a better life for his wife and children. After continuing his training & education late nights at the community college, Jose worked his way up to an Automation Technician at Bolthouse Farms. For over 20 years, he could solve just about any computer-related problem on their machinery.

Jose enjoyed working on his cars and computers, visiting national parks with his family, was a big Trekkie (Star Trek fan!), and wouldn't be caught using an Apple product even in his final days. Although he was grateful for the time he had, he wanted to spend many more years enjoying and watching his 4 grandchildren grow up.

He is survived by his wife, Nora; his children, Melissa Bocanegra, Michelle Lopez, Marshall Garcia, and Michael Garcia; his grandchildren, Belen, Kyro, Zuko, and Ezra; his mother, Nora Irma Torres; and his siblings, Gloria Lina, Claudia Marisol, Yadira Victoria, Jesus Alberto, and Luis Dolores Garcia Torres.
