Help The Gathering Re-Open its Doors

To our dear community:

We are overwhelmed by the support you have extended to us in the last 24 hours.

We can’t thank you enough for the words of kindness, and for how many have reached out about sending our team money to help with wages.

We feel uplifted and beyond held during this week.

As we recently announced:

On Wednesday afternoon, we received a letter.

The letter in its ten pages, held words, phrases, and images of hate and fear.

Amidst its contents were also dates and threats of potential harm.

Due to the nature of this letter, out of protection for our team and for you, our community, we have decided to close our doors for the next week, until these dates have passed.

This decision will also give us time to implement new safety protocols as we seek to re-open our doors, and will not do so until these protocols are put into place.

This is where we are asking for assistance!

What the funds will go towards:

First and foremost we have started this go fund me, to cover the lost wages (including tips) for our team.

2. One of the protocols we are putting into place in our first opening weeks, is having a security guard on site. Part of the money raised will go towards making this happen.

3. To help us cover sales lost for the 7 days we are closed. This allows us to still be able to cover rent, utilities, and other bills that still have to get covered, regardless of if the doors of the shop are open or closed.

4. The remainder of the funding will go towards helping cover therapy and resource costs for our team.
