Supporting the Gifford Family in Their Time of Loss
On October 30, 2024, Mike Gifford (husband to Tausha Gifford) and his sister Cheyenne Denney (wife to Chris Denney) lost their beloved Father / stepfather, Don Berry. Don had only recently been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, and he had also faced years of battling diabetes. Despite his strength, Don’s health complications were overwhelming, and he passed away. Tragically, just days later, on November 4, 2024, Mike and Cheyenne’s mother, Kathy Berry, also passed unexpectedly after months of hospital visits for ongoing health issues. Neither Don nor Kathy had life insurance, leaving Mike, Tausha, Cheyenne, and Chris to manage these difficult losses without the resources to cover final expenses.
Mike, Tausha, Cheyenne, and Chris are not only friends; they’re family to us in every sense of the word. Over the years, they have shown us and so many others what it truly means to be generous, compassionate, and selfless. They’re the first to lend a helping hand, whether it’s offering a ride to someone in need, spending countless hours volunteering in the community, or simply being there to listen when times are tough. Mike, Tausha, Cheyenne, and Chris are the kind of people who would give the shirt off their backs to help someone else, no matter the time or place.
Known for their work ethic and integrity, they have always put others before themselves. Together, they’ve been a steady source of kindness, support, and resilience for those around them, lifting others up even when they might be struggling themselves. Their warmth and generosity have touched countless lives, and they do it all quietly, without ever expecting anything in return.
Today, though, this incredibly giving family finds themselves in need of the compassion they’ve always shown to others. Facing the sudden loss of both a beloved stepfather and mother in such a short span of time is heartbreaking, and we want nothing more than to be there for them the way they’ve always been there for us. In this moment, they need the support and love of the community they’ve nurtured for so long.
In honor of their generosity, we’re asking for donations to help them through this painful time. Even $1 makes a difference and shows this family that they’re not alone. If you can find it in your heart to give, know that every bit of your support goes directly toward easing their burden.
Thank you for any help you can offer in bringing light to a dark time for a family who truly deserves our care. This GoFundMe is created with their permission, and your kindness will not be forgotten.
