Help the Gladin Family Rebuild Their Lives After Flood in GA

Donation protected
Please help the Gladin family rebuild their lives after a devastating flood.

My name is Catherine Snyder and I am Allie Gladin's sister. My husband, Daniel McGuire and I have set this GoFundMe up with the approval of the Gladin family. We are reaching out to the community asking to help support Allie, Scott, and their their two young children Lacey (3 years old) and Hank (1 year old) as record flooding, as a result of Tropical Storm Debby, has left them homeless.

On August 10th in Richmond Hill, GA, Allie, Scott, Hank, and Lacey, along with their two dogs, Chipper and Peaches, were forced to abandon their home and were evacuated by boat to a local church with the help of the Richmond Hill Fire Department. While the flooding was first expected to recede quickly, the water continued to rise rapidly, giving them little time to save their belongings. At last check, the water, filled with sewage and debris was still rising, already 6"-8" deep in the house and even deeper in the garage.

The Gladins are grateful to be safe and sound, but now they have to start looking at next steps for themselves. They have lost most of their belongings, including furniture, clothing, appliances, and personal items that are essential for all of them, not to mention sentimental items that can never be replaced. Their cars have also been lost, both vehicles are submerged almost halfway in the murky floodwater. This is on top of the indescribable emotional turmoil of having to abandon the home where they have been raising their two children and building their lives together. Their renter's insurance will not be covering any of the damage.

They are also now facing the harsh reality of being homeless for an unforeseeable future while they wait for their home to be assessed by their Landlord and eventually undergoes extensive gutting and repairs. With their insurance covering nothing, this situation is placing an immense emotional and financial strain on them. Allie, Scott, their two babies, and their two large dogs are currently staying with friends, but this is only a temporary solution. They need our help to get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.

How you can help: We are aiming to raise $10,000 to assist Allie and Scott in covering just some of the many costs that they will be dealing with. Your generous donations will go towards:
-Temporary Housing: Ensuring the family has a safe and comfortable place to stay while their home is being repaired.
-Essential Items: Replacing crucial daily items such as clothing, furniture, kitchen appliances, items essential for the kids like car seats, carriers, and more.
-Transportation: Scott and Allie will now have to find transportation to work while waiting for the auto insurance to come through, although they will have to be able to access the cars before that process is possible. Thanks to a great network of friends they have some help with this right now and they are very grateful.

Scott and Allie are always there to help their friends and family however they can, and Allie extends that care to her students as well, always going above and beyond and often using her own resources to provide for her classroom and students. She has touched the lives of many children and families in the community. Scott works hard to support his family and the kids are his whole world. Now, they need our support to overcome this challenging time. We are hoping all of us who have been blessed to know them and have even been helped by them in the past can come together to help them rebuild their lives.

How to Donate: Please consider making a donation, no matter how small, to help the Gladin family. Every contribution will make a significant difference. You can donate directly through this GoFundMe page and share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks to spread the word.

Let’s show the Gladins that they are not alone and that we stand with them in their time of need. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any help you can give, be it financially or even just a kind word to let them know how much they mean to us.
