Help Jose with Medical Expenses

Hi everyone, we are raising funds for my dad, Jose Hernandez.

My dad is a 52-year-old father of five children, including me. He and my mom, Christina Montes, have been together for 14 years. We live in San Antonio, Texas. He works as a full-time subcontractor and is the sole provider for our family. When he is not working, he is spending time with us cooking, baking, or barbecuing. He makes and sells BBQ plates on the weekends or whenever he can. We love seeing how happy cooking and spending time with us makes him. He is the most selfless, caring, strong, and hard-working person we know. He has been by my side my whole life and now we want to be there for him as much as we can. He is the best dad ever.

In August of 2023, he was officially diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. This was a shock to all of us. Things quickly started to change in our lives. Since he was diagnosed, he has not been able to work his full-time job. He has been prescribed Insulin, chemotherapy, dialysis, and other medications. He now must spend 1-2 weeks in the hospital at a time for these necessary treatments, additional surgeries, and recovery. Now that he is unable to work, my family is challenged with finding other means to raise and earn money to support him. With one car for our family, this also makes things challenging. My mom continues to support my siblings and me by taking us to our part-time jobs, and college classes while staying with him in the hospital.
