Help the Gostomel Animal Shelter in Ukraine

Donation protected
Since Gostomel's liberation, the shelter has begun the difficult task of rebuilding -- fixing its damaged structure and rebuilding the lives of Gostomel animals injured in the war or left behind by their fleeing families. The team feeds free-roaming animals around the city, provides medical care to sick or injured animals, and of course, houses hundreds of dogs and cats while they wait for their forever families.

Gostomel, located to the northwest of Kyiv, is home to the Antonov Airport. The airport's strategic importance placed Gostomel at the center of Russia's war on Ukraine and the city saw almost nonstop shelling since February 24, 2022.

Gostomel is also home to the Gostomel Animal Shelter, one of Ukraine's oldest animal shelters, where 700 dogs and cats live. The war has affected the shelter in countless ways: their electricity was shut off,  they have a very limited supply of water, most of the workers fled, the building was damaged, and animals have died from heart attacks and injuries.

We are raising emergency funds in order to help them take care of the animals in these difficult days.

Maddy will be transferring money into their account because gofundme cannot be linked directly to a Ukrainian bank.
