Help the Goulds with expenses
Kyla is a sweet, silly, outgoing 4 year old little girl. She has the brightest smile and lights up every room she enters.
Kyla has been complaining of headaches and occasionally getting off balance and stumbling. Laura was able to get a referral to a neurologist but knew she would have to wait a while to get Kyla seen. On August 5th, Laura took Kyla to an ophthalmologist in an attempt to get some answers for Kyla. While looking at Kyla's eyes the doctor noticed her optic nerve was swollen and significant pressure behind her eyes. The ophthalmologist told Laura to pack some bags and go straight to Pensacola to the children's ER.
Once they arrived in Pensacola, Kyla was immediately seen at the ER. After a CT scan doctors found roughly a 3 inch mass on Kyla's brain. Kyla was admitted to the hospital and is now in the PICU at Sacred Heart Pensacola. Starting last night Kyla was given an IV of pain medication and steroids to help with the pressure and keep her pain under control. An MRI and MRV are scheduled today (8/6). Until the tests come back, Laura and Jeff have no answers.
Jeff and Laura have not asked for a thing from anyone. However, Jeff, Laura, Kaydn (Kyla's 6 year old brother) and Kyla are genuinely the nicest people I have ever met. Laura always puts everyone else first, and never worries about herself. Jeff and Laura would never ask for anything, but they are going to need all the support they can get in the upcoming days. I set up this GoFundMe in hopes of raising some money for the Goulds. The medical expenses are unknown at this time but we know they will continue to grow. The expenses of staying in a hospital in general are high, not to mention if either Laura or Jeff needs to go back home (a 2 hour drive), as well as providing for Kaydn, who due to his age cannot stay at the hospital over night. Kaydn is staying with friends of Laura and Jeff at this time, but I'd love to be able to provide them with support as well. Laura's family lives out of the country, so their friends are their family. If you cannot contribute monetarily, please share and pray, send good vibes and thoughts to Kyla and the Goulds.
