Help the Greenday's Relocate Safely During Chemotherapy
Donation protected
The Greenday family from Freshwater, QLD, is facing an overwhelming challenge.
Sharni Green, a devoted wife, mother, and small business owner, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (adenocarcinoma stage 3b) in January 2025. She recently underwent major surgery (a Whipple procedure) and is now preparing to begin chemotherapy.
As if that weren’t enough, Sharni and her family received a 60-day Notice to Leave their rental home (owner wants to renovate and sell) on the very same day she had her cancer biopsy. Their eviction date falls right in the middle of her treatment. Despite applying for dozens of rentals, they have not yet secured a new place to live.
Sharni and her husband Steven have worked hard to build a small engine repair business in Cairns, but with Sharni’s diagnosis and treatment and Steven stepping into the role of full-time carer, their business operations have been severely impacted — and the family currently has no active income.
They are doing everything they can to care for their 14-year-old son Joshua and maintain some stability through this incredibly difficult time. But right now, they urgently need help with the costs of relocating — something that’s nearly impossible while recovering from major surgery and preparing for chemotherapy.
Funds raised will go DIRECTLY and ONLY towards:
-Professional bond cleaning and pressure washing of their current rental (required by the real estate agent)
-Moving truck hire or removalist services
-Packing materials and heavy lifting help
-Other relocation-related costs during Sharni’s chemotherapy
This is a hardworking local family with no current income, doing their best to stay afloat while facing cancer, eviction, and uncertainty.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and community.
Thank you for your kindness and support .
I hope the rental crisis stops soon. There are so many people struggling when they shouldn't have to.
