Help the Grundy family get home.

On March 30th, Larry and Kim came home to a furnace that had exploded, and oil had poured into their furnace room. As time progressed, they discovered the oil had seeped into the walls, floors of surrounding spaces, and their foundation. They have had to displace their family and move out of their home. It will cost $50,000 just to remove the oil. This week they were told that none of the costs would be covered by insurance.

 

The Grundy’s are also incurring other expenses that have been denied by insurance, such as storage of their household items and replacement of many of their ruined furnishings.

 

If this was not hard enough, they have to also worry about their family, especially their daughter with special needs, who is now displaced from home. Cami has Prader -Willi syndrome, which causes her never to be full. Having food readily accessible can cause her tremendous harm. By not being in their home, they cannot secure food as safely as they do when there.

Larry and Kim are active members of our community and can often be seen at high school music events. As a member of the Falcon Booster Club for over the last ten years, Larry has donated his time and knowledge. He gives up his weekends to drive the instrument truck for the marching band and winter percussion groups, among many other things. Kim is a U.S. Navy veteran and currently works at LEARN. Their youngest child is a student at Fitch High School. Larry and Kim attend Groton Bible Chapel and have raised up their family here since 2009. They are also entrepreneurs, helping to run the family business, LEGS Landscaping.
