Help the Hamm family grow

I am reaching out to you today with hopes of coming together to support a deserving couple of becoming parents. Jamie and my sister, Meaghan, are two hopeful individuals who dream of building a beautiful family, but they are in need of support to make that dream a reality.

Jamie and Meaghan started their journey towards expanding their family about 6 years ago. Unfortunately, they have encountered numerous obstacles along the way, such as 5 IUI’s and two unsuccessful rounds of IVF. Both rounds they had success with the egg retrievals, but came out with no embryos to transfer. They’ve also had unexpected medical setbacks such as an ectopic pregnancy resulting in a life threatening emergency surgery. Despite these hardships, their unwavering spirit and love for each other have kept their dreams alive.

My sister and I are very close, and because of that, I have witnessed her and Jamie go through all of these hardships in the last several years. They have maintained strength and hope, however because of the significant costs of IVF incurred, I want to help in any way I can. Your generous support can make an enormous difference in their lives, providing them with the means to access the medical treatments and doctors recommendations. Such as other fertility options that can increase their chances of conceiving and bringing a child into their loving home.

Medications for each cycle of IVF can run up to $5 000, depending on your doctor's protocol. A round of IVF is about $20 000 (not including additional testing such as genetic testing). Many people find success after 3-4 attempts at IVF. The Ontario government provides one funded cycle only and limited funding for IUI. Jamie and Meaghan’s benefits have already been fully utilized, as these benefits are only available once. There are several other additional fees, such as recommended monthly supplements, naturopathic guidance, fertility acupuncture, etc.

The funds raised through this fundraiser will be allocated towards the following aspects:

Fertility Treatments: Fertility medications, fertility procedures, diagnostic testing, donor egg/sperm, additional doctor recommendations.

Adoption Expenses: In the event that conception through traditional means becomes unattainable, Jamie and Meaghan will explore the option of adoption. Your support will help them in navigating the adoption process, including legal fees, agency expenses, etc.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will bring Jamie and Meaghan closer to their dream of becoming parents. Additionally, your encouragement, kind words, and willingness to share this fundraiser with others will have a tremendous impact on their spirits and help to make their dream of growing their family a reality.
