Help us support the Harlan Family and Jacob’s return after five years imprisoned in China...

Jake’s return after five years is imminent, and our goal is to help support this dear Family alleviate some of the financial stress in the transition ahead. Jacob/Jake and Kathrine/Kai and their five children are deeply thankful for all the help they have received from so many loving people in these last five years. They have been living on a prayer in many ways and the gracious giving is deeply appreciated!!

We invite all who are interested to assist at this time, to donate and help lighten the financial stress in the coming transition of Jake’s return. This financial support will extend their time to BE TOGETHER as a family, to heal and recover from this separation. This transition time after FIVE years will be such a welcome and prayed-for miracle! Thank you in advance for your support.

Though many would like to hear details and get answers to questions about Jake’s return, we are unable to share anything further yet. We aim to provide updates on this site and answer the main question many ask: How can we help?

We are inviting donations for our dear brother and his family to help prepare the tangible parts of life that the Harlan Family will need, in order to unite as a family and not rush back into seeking employment. All donations will be transferred directly to Jacob & Kathrine for their daily living expenses while their family takes this much needed time for healing.

During this ordeal, they lost the entire Chinese Horizons business that they built for over 17 years. Jake and Kathrine poured their heart and soul into the company and even lived in China three times. Jake and Kai met in a college Chinese class, lived in China as newlyweds, took their young children to live there, and built a school. Jake often traveled with their children to take the students to China. They have such a strong love for the Chinese people, and even through all this hardship will deeply value the culture and dear friends.

After five years, we want to witness that Jake and Kathrine continue to be inspirations of strength and resilience through such a difficult time; enduring their separation with faith, patience, goodness, and love. Jake has written letters to the family, and he sounds spiritually strong. Kathrine has done an incredible job helping the children, she has been a source of strength and goodness in this season of separation. There have been amazing tender mercies and miracles along the way, and we are all so very thankful to report HE WILL BE COMING HOME SOON!

We hope this final request isn’t too much, but both of our families are eager to provide a way to bridge some financial relief, and we warmly invite anyone who is willing to contribute.
