Recovery and Rebuild for the Haydel Family
Our dear friends, Pilar and Chris Haydel, along with their son Santiago, have suffered an unimaginable tragedy. The Eaton Fire destroyed their home of 27 years, along with their lifelong memories and precious keepsakes. In the chaos, they only had time to grab a few clothes. In an instant, years of love, laughter, and everything they worked so hard to build were gone.
Their home was more than just a house—it was a place filled with warmth, joy, and an open door for anyone who needed it. It was a space that fostered love, welcomed friends and family, and held countless cherished memories.
This tragedy has deeply impacted their family, including their 17-year-old son, Santiago, and their beloved dog, Satchmo. They are grieving not only the loss of their home but also the heartbreaking disappearance of their cherished cat, Mouschi, who they couldn’t locate in time to save.
The family is now staying temporarily with friends in the area and while they are incredibly grateful for this safe haven, they urgently need to rebuild their lives and secure a place to call their own.
