Help the Heidenreichs through this difficult time

It’s hard to ask for help. And it can feel humiliating because you are exposing personal challenges that you are facing. But when putting food on the table or keeping a roof over your family’s head becomes almost impossible, you pray for a miracle. I wish I could be that miracle for Shawna and her family, but I am just a pebble in the pond in this situation. My hope is that together all our pebbles can get our friends through this hard time by keeping food on the table and a roof over their head. Here’s the situation: As most of you know, Shawna has been teaching the last 2 years. Clint has also worked various positions in maintenance and construction. Unfortunately, Clint has been battling a SEVERE infection that started from a back surgery in 2018. He has had to take antibiotics daily and has been taking them for over a year. Without the daily antibiotics the infection travels to his heart and brain and it becomes critical FAST. He’s been hospitalized numerous times, but ultimately the solution is another surgery to remove the hardware in his back to hopefully get rid of the infection. In the last six months, Clint has not been able to work leaving their family solely on Shawna’s teacher income. It absolutely breaks Clint’s heart to not be able to work and provide, but he’s having a hard time just functioning on a daily basis. After paying their primary bills (mortgage, propane, electric, insurance) they literally have NOTHING left for food, car gas, medical bills, phones or any other of the kid's needs. Because of this, they have fallen behind. They qualified for a VERY small amount in food stamps, and they do not qualify for any other assistance. Clint is working closely with his doctor to get his back surgery and finally resolve this nightmare. The surgery can not be done locally and he will need to travel back to Colorado to his last surgeon. He needs time to get the surgery scheduled, have the surgery, recover and get back to working. Everyone’s best guess is it will take a minimum of 6 months total. To CONSERVATIVELY make it through this time Shawna’s parents and I have calculated that they will need approximately $1500 a month for six months; which equals $9,000. We are praying for a miracle. I know Shawna and Clint HATE asking for help. Just the fact that I am asking for Shawna puts her to tears because she so badly doesn’t want to have to ask. Their deepest desire is to be financially able to care for themselves, BUT they have to somehow get through this time. Please, please, please be praying for my friends. The financial stress of not being able to fully care for their family and the emotional stress of Clint being so sick is overwhelming. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wanted to lay it ALL OUT honestly and directly. As their friend, I am very humbly asking for you to consider helping if you can. Thank you for considering. I know times are tough for everyone, but every little bit helps.
