Help the helpers - Stilgar &his mom need us
Stilgar came into county shelter emaciated and abandoned. He was heartworm positive and was having a hard time putting on weight and just getting adopted. He was able to go into the shelter's foster program where his foster home became his forever.
Stilgar lead a happy and fulfilled life with his dog and cat siblings, and his mom who loves them all and continues to dedicate her time to other stray animals like Stilgar as an Animal Welfare advocate. Working in Animal Welfare can be draining, but the rewards are great when you can help a dog like Stilgar.
Fast forward to a few days ago when Stilgar's mom came home to find a pup that wasn't himself. He was lethargic and couldn't eat, which a sudden change like this almost means something terrible for animals. Stilgar was brought to the emergency vet and has been diagnosed with pneumonia. Doctors are treating him, running tests, removing fluid, feeding him, etc. yet his fever remains high and he still isn't eating. Every hour, every day that the doctors care for Stilgar is important to get him healthy, but it is also hard financially. Stilgar's care has already surpassed the initial estimate given to his mom, and they need help.
Stilgar's mom has dedicated her time first as a volunteer to help dogs like Stilgar. She was an active volunteer and foster at the local county shelter, an open intake shelter that basically doesn't say no to any dog coming in. She helped so many people, dogs, and others that she was offered a position at the shelter and still continues to foster dogs and help the community. Now it's our turn to help her, help Stilgar.
Please help in any way you can towards the vet costs/expenses while Stilgar continues to be treated.
