Help the Herbert Family

Please help the Herbert family. Our friend and pastor, Jeremy Herbert, was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma on December 31, 2018. He is in Tampa, Florida, where he was visiting family over Christmas. He suffered an immense amount of abdominal pain and was admitted to the hospital. He continued to be in much pain, even after intense medication.
Because of the aggressiveness of Burkitt lymphoma, the size of the tumor, and the 1200 miles he was from home, it was decided to start chemotherapy immediately, on January 2, 2019, in Tampa. Fortunately, the hospital he is in works closely with the Moffitt Cancer Center. These doctors put together an individualized treatment plan for him, with his need to travel home in mind. Once he completes the first round of six days of 24 hour continuous chemotherapy, he will be evaluated. When he is deemed healthy enough to fly home, he will be released. Once home, Jeremy will resume the 21 day chemotherapy schedule: one week inpatient chemotherapy at KU Medical Center, two weeks off to rest. Repeat, for six to eight months.
The purpose of this platform is to support the Herbert family. We chose GoFundMe because it, like the Herbert family, is reputable and reaches people across the country. The Herberts have been involved in the Higginsville community being soccer parents, teaching piano lessons, loving on neighborhood kids, and pastoring our church for several years. They have family and friends throughout the country, some through churches, schools, and the Wild's camp. We hope this platform might reach many and bring us together for this great cause.
First, we ask that you would pray for the family and do so continually. They have many uncertain months ahead of them. God is at work and His hand is in this situation. We don't know why or what He will do, but we can be confident that He is very involved and very good.
Secondly, we ask that you would provide financial help to the Herberts. We hope that any money that comes in would alleviate some stress, pay medical bills, enable Sherry to stay with Jeremy, and help them focus on healing.
Thank you for your friendship and care for the Herbert family.
