Help the Hopkins Family Rebuild After Home Flood

Johnny, Ruth, & their children Izzy (3) and Gabriel (2) came home from work in November 2021 to find their Tumwater home completely flooded from plumbing on the upper floor. Since then they have been trying to dry and repair the home, as well as pay all these expenses including shelter costs out of pocket. Their insurance has been difficult and they have not received a dime at this point, particularly for their hotel.

 

Now the Hopkins family is understandably struggling to make ends meet while they wait for insurance. They are actively looking into legal actions, but continue to pay for all expenses including their monthly mortgage. As many have experienced, to quote Ruth, "they (the insurance company) could care less if we become homeless." The Hopkinses must continue to pay their mortgage in order to potentially receive an insurance payout, which isn't guaranteed.

 

Additionally Ruth has and continues to work proudly as a healthcare worker throughout this entire pandemic. Needless to say this situation is an additional stressor as a mother with her home in flux.
